Pocklington Community Volunteer Awards 2026
The Pocklington Community Volunteer Awards Ceremony is taking place at Pocklington Community Hall on Friday 16th October 2026, 7pm – 9pm. Nominate a volunteer, then join us at the ceremony.
Your nomination will be judged on the quality in terms of volunteer impact only, not on the number of nominations received for the same person.
CATEGORIES
Young Volunteer Award – Under 25
This award recognises a young person (aged 25 and under) who has brought energy, dedication and commitment to their volunteering.
Sports and Active Volunteer Award
Volunteers are vital for sports clubs and activities to run. This award recognises a volunteer who gives their time, enthusiasm and energy encouraging others to be physically active: from leading a walking group, to organising sporting events to weekly coaching.
Community Volunteer Award
This award recognises a volunteer who has volunteered in the community. They may be involved with an organisation or may be involved in all sorts of venues and groups; they may have inspired others in the community to get involved; or have been an encouragement and guiding light to others.
Volunteer Team Award
This category is open to any collective of volunteers who work as a team/group to change lives. The nature of the volunteering can fall into any of the other categories and recognises the work done by members working together in an organised and impactful way.
Behind the Scenes Volunteer Award
All groups and organisations will have those volunteers who work quietly ‘behind the scenes’, keeping groups and volunteers going. They carry out tasks such as administration, refreshments, media work, grass cutting, setting up and tidying away etc. An invaluable member of any group!
Environmental Volunteer Award
These volunteers keep the community’s public green spaces in impeccable condition for all to enjoy. Volunteers who work in these areas preserve and protect green spaces; develop green spaces for all to use; and keep our community tidy.
Long Serving Volunteer Award
A volunteer who has given years of dedicated service to the community.

These awards recognise volunteering which has taken place over the past 12 months - apart from the Long Serving Volunteer Award.
Nominations can be made by members of charities, community groups, local residents, council staff, businesses, groups, fellow volunteers, family members, clubs etc. Basically, anyone who knows how hard a volunteer/team has worked.
You may nominate as many volunteers as you wish. Please note all nominees will be judged by the quality of your submission, so please bear this in mind as you complete your nomination.
