Pockdown 2025 is back!  And it’s bigger and better than ever!

Pockdown is the town’s FREE family funday, and it’s happening again at Pocklington Rugby Club’s Burnby Lane ground on Saturday 26 July from 12 noon to 6 pm.

Gates open at 12, and a full afternoon of live music, activities and entertainment follows, all surrounded by local stalls, food vendors, bar and a Community Volunteer Village.

Entry is FREE, as are all activities which include an array of inflatables (including a 60 foot long obstacle course); a petting farm; Magic Carpets' unique ‘Ave a go Circus – not to be missed; and a 25ft climbing wall.  East Riding Council’s Active Communities team will provide a range of activities including archery, sumo suits, football, balance beams and more, while Pocklington Rugby and cricket clubs will run taster sessions. Face painting is also free!

We are delighted to announce that this year we will again be working with Accessible Arts and Media to deliver a dedicated marquee for SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) families. Throughout the day we’ll be offering accessible craft activities, a black out tent and sensory activities including music workshops and fun sessions.

This free event is made possible thanks to kind donations from Barratt Foundation, Pocklington RUFC and The Horncastle Family Foundation, funding from Pocklington Rugby In The Community, Pocklington Town Council and the support of East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Active Communities Health & Well-Being Team.

A Pockdown 2024 spokesperson said: “Thank you to all our fantastic supporters and the work of Pocklington RITC and Pocklington Town Council. We hope that this will be another fantastic event for the whole community, and we’re looking forward to everyone enjoying all the activities across the day.

We would welcome additional help from the community - anyone who can offer an hour or two to set up, supervise the gate or tidy up afterwards, should contact Louise Partridge via email at  office@pockritc.com  There are a couple of spaces left for trade or craft stalls, further information and a booking form is available by contacting Louise. And if anyone is interested in supporting the event via sponsoring specific activities or the event as a whole please contact us.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to Roger Cameron of Megaplant Ltd, Winn Tyres,  Coopers Marquees Ltd and GT Graphics for their generous support.”
