Next round of Small Community Grants Scheme open

PRITC is helping administer the Small Community Grants Scheme in association with East Riding of Yorkshire Council Active Towns. We are seeking applicants for the next round.

The application forms are accessed via Active Towns Website - www.activetowns.co.uk - scroll down to "Community Grants" where all the details are held with the application form which is very simple

The deadline for the next round of grant distribution is 27 May 2022.

The grant is designed to enable people to engage in activities that support their physical and mental health and encourage people to be socially active within their communities. The grant could be used by an existing community group to get up and running again once Covid 19 restrictions allow or could be used to develop new activities which adults and young people have never engaged in before. Ideas include:

  • Fund Covid 19 safety measures to enable groups to become operational

  • Provide activities for a new community group, such as facility hire, refreshments

  • Train volunteers to lead community activities/sessions

  • Pay for activity leaders to deliver sessions

  • Advertising to promote sessions and activities

The money could be used for, but is not limited to:

  • Set up costs, eg. DBS checks, first year of insurance, premises lease costs, CCTV

  • Revenue costs, for example, facility hire charges (up to 10 weeks), insurance, refreshments

  • Coach/instructor costs

  • Volunteer expenses

  • Advertising

  • Sporting equipment

  • Other non-sporting equipment related to activities e.g. storage, printing, and refreshments

  • IT equipment (laptops, software)

  • PPE and cleaning equipment

  • Transport costs to sessions

The grant money cannot be used for:

  • Retrospective payments

  • Items to benefit an individual
